Welcome to our website! We aim to provide you with information of what Grantham Future is, what we do and how we operate.
Grantham Future was established in 2006 to help Grantham reach its potential of being a thriving market town.
Everything we do is geared towards enhancing, promoting and improving the town for all to benefit.
Grantham Future is hosting the above event on Tuesday 19th February at Springfield House, Grantham. The half day workshop aims to develop momentum, ideas and projects for BIDs (Business Improvement Districts) for Grantham town centre.
BIDs involve a specific geographical area where businesses vote to collectively invest in specific initiatives that will improve their trading environment. It is vital that local businesses are involved in the full BID’s process - designed to provide control, leadership and finances to the business community. Your thoughts and opinions are central to this process, and essential for shaping the future of Grantham.
Whilst originating in the USA, BIDs have become increasingly popular in the UK. Locally, Nottingham, Derby, Lincoln and Sleaford have voted ‘yes’ for a BID, which equates to approximately £1million worth of funds per year for improving their town/city centres. There is a potential for Grantham to generate over £200,000 per year to spend in areas you think would benefit your business.
This workshop is one of the final stages in emda’s (East Midlands Development Agency) BID’s Acadamy which Grantham Future are enrolled upon. The output will be a BIDs feasibility study for Grantham and an action plan for the next stages.
Bookings for the workshop are essential. For further information or to book your place, please contact Grantham town centre manager, Lia Ibbotson, on 01476 514491 or email lia.ibbotson@hotmail.co.uk.
